Overview and Objective

Our client is a Mobile gaming studio and they wanted an infinite skater game. They had just a raw idea and everything else was a clean slate. Everything was a variable starting from theme, character models and animations, to gameplay.

Our mission was to bring this abstract vision to life and develop an engaging, high-quality game from scratch, making creative decisions on everything from visual style to technical mechanics.

Key Challenges

The Game was to be fully customized and hence added a few challenges around clients preferences.

  • No specific theme or visual direction for the game
  • Undefined character models and their animations
  • Making the site mobile/ tablet friendly and responsive
  • Android and IOS- both Compatibility

Solution Proposed

Created an entire plan with a timeline, an urban city setting themes and UI for the game.

Had a questionnaire and Created base models for 3 different styles based on clients' responses. Finalized one that suited better with the theme settings and look and feel of the game. Created animations that go with the game.

Established core mechanics, such as collecting coins, avoiding obstacles, and performing tricks while skating. We also integrated speed boosts and power-ups to maintain player engagement.

Unity was used as the primary game engine to ensure smooth development and compatibility across both iOS and Android platforms.

Organized app testing with users from various countries to ensure user taste for the game.

Result

Turning City Skipper into a fully realized game was an exciting challenge. From building a unique urban theme to designing engaging gameplay mechanics and ensuring smooth performance, we overcame every challenge to deliver a fun and polished experience.
